The room is exactly as advertised, simple and affordable. However, the cleanliness and welcoming from the knowledgeable and friendly owner is why I’ve given this motel 5-stars. The owners clearly have pride in their motel and it shows! Thank you for a great stay. Location was perfect to start our trip on the Cabot Trail.

What a great place to stay, fall colors right outside your window. View of the river flowing behind the motel . Lots of places to roam on the large property with some nice trails and benches to allowing you to get away and watch the world go by. Room was excellent with all the things you need to enjoy your stay. The room was super clean and this might be strange to review but the picture window that has the view of the river was so clean you would swear you were outside not looking through a window . Not many places you can say that about. We were travelling with another couple and we were both impressed on how clean rooms and well equipped the rooms were.

We meet the owners Greg and Cathy at check-in who gave us the low down on what was around to visit, Cabot trail, where to eat in town, how to get to places off the beaten path. What could be better beautiful views, free info, free coffee. Greg even set us up with firewood for a great campfire while we enjoyed the great fall weather. Would be back to stay here in a heart beat. Great place and great owners.

Two amazing days in a perfect location to be ready to enjoy the hiking and swimming. The front desk host Cathy is amazing! She is so knowledgeable and kind. Her morning coffee make you feel right at home. Refreshing river. Cannot wait to go again and see the restaurant next year!

The. Cornerstone is a lovely clean motel on the trail.

We arrived on two motorcycles. When Cathy checked us in, she answered all our questions before we could ask them. She knew we were tired and didn’t want to ride to a restaurant anymore, so she pointed at the taxi phone number. She recommended a very nice restaurant and made us reservations.

Upon our return from dinner Greg gave us paper to light the camp fire.

Anyway, we had a very nice and comfortable time at The Cornerstone and will certainly return next time we’re in the area. The property is beautiful and very well kept. Bring bug spray!
