This motel is a beautiful facility that is clean, comfortable and placed in the midst of a picture perfect setting.
The owners Greg and Cathy are exemplary in their approach to their business and attention to their guests.
From the moment we arrived we felt that we were in a well managed and cared for property.
Cathy suggested and even reserved a dinner table at a local establishment that was fantastic.
A beautiful property but an even better experience provided by the owners!

We treat all of our guests with great care and always take the required time to share our local knowledge on restaurants and places to see so you will experience the best we have to offer in Cheticamp! We figure that when you come here, you come to experience everything and your not just here for a bed. Perfect base location for all your Highlands National Park excursions!
The cornerstone motel is in an ideal location. The trails and benches along the river were an incredible spot to enjoy our morning coffee and prepare for our daily activities. The room was very comfortable and very economical. Next time we visit we plan to stay a week as it is a perfect home base to so many incredible hiking trails.
Cathy and Greg were very friendly and accommodating! We look forward to visiting again.

We are idealy situated to many of the best trails, 15 min to the SKYLINE Trail, 2 min to the ACADIAN Trail and the closest Motel to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park since we share the boarder of the park on 2 sides of the property!! As well the most famous part of the Cabot Trail is only 8 min away (as it winds into the mountains) and sunsets are spectacular from the Grande Falaise lookout only 3 min away by car!!

We accidentally booked for the previous night online but we wanted the next night. The owner called us to confirm our reservation and then graciously changed it with no issues. The accommodations were clean, modern, newly updated, the owners were polite, friendly and very accommodating and we loved our stay; we will definitely be coming back! (Aug 2021 – Google Reviews)
Perfect Location and Friendly Hosts
I was impressed with the Queen suite that I booked at the Cornerstone Motel. It was beautiful, very clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. Cathy was very helpful in showing me maps of where to go on my visit. I enjoyed speaking with Greg and Cathy and was impressed with the passion they have at providing a first-class experience. The location of the motel is so perfect, right at the entrance for Cape Breton National Park’s Chéticamp Visitor Centre. I wish I had more time to explore the river and trails. I plan to visit again with my wife and stay here again. Can’t wait!
Great place to stay !
Bonjour, we stayed 3 nights at the beginning of June. Having a great Queen Suite Deluxe in front of the river was so nice. Cathy and Greg are very nice and helpfull. Located just at 1 km of the entrance of the Cabot Trail made us driving less to many great views and hiking. Don’t hesitate, Have a great Summer ! Helene and Claude from Quebec City
